Recently we have witnessed many reports of Amazonaws S3 virus affecting the browser experience of many people. The virus causes web browsers to flag Amazon service as a computer virus. Symptoms might include many website redirects when the computer user clicks on link in Amazon S3 in addition to undesirable ad popups on the website. First, what is S3 Amazonaws virus?

The S3 Amazonaws Virus, also known as Amazon S3 (Simple Storage Service) virus has existed since the year 2011. This virus affects the Amazon S3 (Simple Storage Service), which is an online file storage service operated by Amazon.com and ran by an Amazon Web Services subsidiary. Due to its effects, the virus has influenced many platforms to flag Amazon service as a potential computer virus. The symptoms include multiple website redirects whenever you click on a link in Amazon S3 and unwanted ad popups on the website.

And because the virus manifests as a browser hijacker, most web browsers, such as Firefox and Chrome label it as malicious or unsafe. Users can upload any content they want to the Amazon S3 cloud service and that is the key reason they are able to upload viruses. Amazon launched the cloud-based storage service in the year 2006 and by around April 2013, they had already stored over 2 trillion objects. People rely on the service for image hosting, web hosting and back storage for their in-house systems.

How to identify Amazonaws virus

What is amazonaws.com virus?  It is same as S3 Amazonaws virus and you already know something about the virus. After the S3 Amazonaws virus infects your computer, you will start getting all forms of advertisements on your browser, whether it is Chrome, Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox. The ads might pop-up as you browse the internet and cover the content you want to access. You can close the ads each time they appear but to stop them from appearing again, you will need to uninstall all the Amazonaws adware. Unfortunately, it is very hard to identify the malware and remove them.

Even though the adware will pop-up on your browser from time to time, you should not engage with the ads. Whatever things or deals they offer could be unreliable. Adware mostly displays bogus ads with an aim of tricking you to click on them. If the ads offer you to install any form of computer program, avoid them. You do not know what you will install at the end. To install safe programs that will run properly, use the legit sources such as the official website of the developer. And if they ask you to participate in a quiz so that you can win prizes, know that they are scammers trying to get your personal information.

Again, the adware might come attached to the freeware and you have to deselect it to prevent installation. That is not hard if you usually pay attention to the installation of programs. Whenever you are installing something, start by reading the provided information and remember to choose the Custom or Advanced settings if they are available. The settings make every additional offer visible so that you can deselect what you do not need. Uncheck the boxes and continue with the installation.

If you are an Internet Explorer user, you will have to open it and click on Manage Add-ons. Look for the Amazonaws Virus and press disable. The virus will go away. For Firefox browser, proceed to Options and Choose Add-ons/Extensions. Look for Amazonaws virus and uninstall it.

If you like using Google Chrome, you will have to start it first. After that, proceed to More Tools/Extensions and locate the malware. Click on remove. Remove the Amazonaws Virus from your Android device

Signs of adware infection in Android devices are very different from those in Windows devices. In your Android device, the malware will drain the battery faster, affect the quality of your calls, send ghost SMS messages, spike your data plan usage and reduce the overall performance of your device. Most people who install applications outside Google Play Store are more vulnerable to the Amazonaws virus. To keep your device safe, avoid downloading a .APK file from many locations.

But if your device is already infected, go to Settings >> More >> Application Manager >> All. Look for your default Internet Application or Chrome. You will have to click the Force Stop button >> Clear Data >> Clear Cache whether you are an Internet or Chrome user. Reboot your Android device or restart the browser – or do both. Remove any strange apps by opening Settings menu >> Apps. Choose any app and remove it. Go back to Settings Menu >. Apps and choose the app. Press the Uninstall button.

Conclusion

What is amazonaws virus? You now know it is a virus and you understand how to uninstall it. Know that you can do the uninstallation in two ways – automatically or manually. The manual method involves you doing every task. But if you are unsure of where to start, obtain anti-spyware software and use it to get rid of adware. That will be an easier method, particularly for individuals with lesser computer knowledge.
