What We Have Covered in This Article

If you are a hardcore gamer or tech enthusiast, you already know what GPUs are (Graphic Processing Units) and what their purpose is. If you have never come across such a thing, do not panic – we will help. High-end GPUs, which mostly come as graphic cards, help the user see exactly what they want to see. Earlier computing systems had little or no memory or GPU drives, but with increase of requirements, the availability of the drives increased.

Manufacturers make the specialized electronic circuit, GPU, to manipulate and accelerate image creation in the intended frame buffer. A GPU therefore shares the CPU image creation load to provide faster elegant results. It reduces the chances of stressing the CPU.

The name “NVIDIA” will never miss in the world of GPUs. It is a leading producer of Graphic cards and a competitor to another producer, “AMD.” They name their range of GPUs “Nvidia Geforce,” which they have been producing since the year 2014. Their most recent product line is the GeForce RTX 20-Series.

The NVIDIA’S GeForce RTX 20-Series

The RTX 2080 Ti is part of the NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 20-Series grounded on the TU102 GPU. The series also includes the RTX 2070 and the RTX 2080, which feature the TU104 processor. For the launching, they have developed the GeForce 2080 Ti GPU, which features a 352-bit memory bus, 4352 CUDA cores in addition to 11GB GDDR6 memory. The other two products, the Geforce 2080 and RTX 2070 will feature 2944 and 2304 cores respectively, 8GB GDDR6 memory and 256-bit memory bus.

Did you know that graphics cards makers are unlikely to activate additional CUDA cores? What they are more likely to do is increase the default, boost the GPUs frequencies and install better cooling systems. In other words, they have to improve or alter the performance of all their products. That is contrary to what we expect with the reference video cards NVIDIA has designed.

The reference PCB for GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, which NVIDIA are using in their overclocked Founders Edition Card, boasts a wide dual-fan cooler and a 13-phase VRM. The Founder’s Edition will feature the 1350/1635MHz (base/boost) clocked GPU. For their partners, NVIDIA recommended the maximum burst frequency, which stands at 1545MHz. For proper differentiation from other NVIDIA’s designs, and to fetch a similar price, they implemented unique factory overclocks and unique coolers.

Speaking of power delivery, EVGA affirmed that the TU102-based Geforce RTX 2080 Ti Ultra cards boast the custom PCB, which in this case implements the 19-phase (16+3?) VRM. Some partners are also likely to do the same thing. Currently only the EVGA has claimed to do that.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Specs

  • The Nvidia Turing Architecture

With the advancement from Pascal to Turing Architecture, Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Ti provides 6X the performance of earlier Pascal-based graphic cards. The real-time retracing, which the powerful AI technology enhances in games will uplift your experience.

  • The game ready drivers

You will be up and running your games including with the extensive settings after a short time. RTX 2080 Ti offers higher levels of performance and smoother experience from when the user starts playing a game to the finishing. Regardless of the game you have chosen to play, you should expect great outcomes each time.

  • The Nvidia Shadow Play

The shadow play does not only optimize with every game you play, but you will manage to record or share the high-quality screenshots, gameplay videos and the livestreams with your social media followers. It will not allow you to do the hard work – you will have everything ready for you.

  • The Nvidia Ansel

With the new product, you can start turning all your screenshots into acceptable art. The Nvidia Ansel offers strong in-game photo mode, which will capture 360, HDR and other super-resolution photos. Your screenshot taking process will be easier and exciting.

  • The Virtual Reality

Nvidia has combined advanced real-time ray tracing, VR rendering and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to take the world of VR to another level. VR is already in an acceptable level and with this new technology, you can expect something better.

  • The G-sync and HDR

With the G-sync feature, you can now expect tear-free gameplays at a refresh rate of 240Hz. That in addition to the HDR functionality, will help you enjoy almost every game you play. For the equipment to provide the maximum results, you will need several gaming peripherals.

  • DirectX 12

DirectX 12 support guarantees the power for the introduced visual effects and techniques for lifelike gaming experiences. When playing your game, you will be emerged into its feels and likes.

  • The 4K

With the addition of more Ks to the resolutions, the world is moving forward. With the 4K resolution, the gaming card will step up your experience. Expect to cover every new detail.

The Performance

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Graphics Cards Reviews

The Nvidia’s RTX technology makes the shadows to look more realistic – you are likely to notice the different intensities. Speaking of the frame rate, the “Shadow of the Tomb Raider” game runs at a consistent rate of 50-57fps. That is impressive considering that the game will be running on one GPU. When playing some other PC games, the performance is likely to exceed 100fps at the 4K and the Ultra settings.

Noise, cooling and ports

With many changes to the RTX 20 serious, expect the exterior of these GPUs to have a revamped look. After using a single fan for many years, NVIDIA has added a second fan to the new system, which is important due to the higher power requirements of the cards. The throttling of these cards temperature is a constraint.

With a second fan, people might expect a noisy device, but that is not the case. The graphic cards are quieter than the previous versions. Including when fully clocked, the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti maintains a lower temperature and the noise at a comfortable level. In the past, the cooling solution has been driving users toward quality third party products, but for this case, the unit is of higher quality.

The card’s back-end has a pleasant look with very few port options.  HDMI 2.0B connectors, display port 1.4 connectors, VirtualLink and USB-C shaped port designed to offer video and power to the virtual reality headsets are the ports to find on the GPUs.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti price and availability

The Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Ti release price goes for $1,199. However, Nvidia states that users can get the product for $999. The amount is higher than the Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti’s price, which stands at $699. The RTX 2080, the RTX 2080 Ti and the other third-party models will enter the market on September 20th 2018, while the RTX 2070 will enter the market in October – the dates are unknown to the public.
